In the video for the Asterion LPI 910-4, Lamborghini announced that they ”deliver the unexpected” and the Asterion Concept Car could do just that. The Asterion made its debut at the 2014 Paris Mondial de l’Automobile and is a revolutionary new concept car from Lamborghini that could be the car of the future. Concept car means that the car is a kind of technology demonstrator for a future car design, the kind of car that you would find displayed by companies at motor shows etc. The car has a Plug-in Hybrid powertrain that has been designed and built by Lamborghini who claim the that it will reduce CO2 emissions. The Asterion provides electric power for urban areas and the power of the aspirated engine for more kick. The engine, together with 3 electric motors, make it possible for 910hp (horse power) and the car goes 0-100km/h in 3.0 seconds. The car has a top speed of 320km/h, whilst running on electric power, can reach up to 125km/h. With a range of 50km purely off battery it is easy to see how the car can help reduce CO2 emissions. The Asterion is built using existing technologies which means it is entirely possible for us to see this car on the road at some point in the future.
